Tesla's "Autopilot" is highly controversial.

An employee showed errors in the system on YouTube – and was apparently fired as a result.

Austin (USA) - Similar to the debate on the topic of "electric vehicles or combustion engines", tempers quickly boil over in discussions about the Tesla brand.

The so-called "autopilot" of the Texan electric car manufacturer is particularly controversial, especially its premium version called "Full Self-Driving" (FSD) - this repeatedly has glaring weaknesses.

Experts are particularly critical of the fact that beta versions of the FSD software are tested on public roads.

Now a Tesla employee has shown problems with the FSD system in the beta version on his YouTube channel - that apparently cost the man his job, as reported by 24auto.de.

In the US, a Tesla employee was allegedly fired because of critical YouTube videos.

Tesla's "autopilot": employee points out problems - manufacturer fires him

According to a report by "CNBC", the man named John B. worked at Tesla on the autopilot system, among other things.

However, the current ex-employee also runs his own YouTube channel called "AI Addict", on which he primarily reports in videos about Tesla's FSD beta software.

However, his field tests of the system are not always positive, as clips from his channel show (an example below).

According to the report, John B. repeatedly uncovered errors.

According to the report, John B. bought himself a Tesla Model 3 because Tesla had offered its employees free access to the FSD – which experts have repeatedly criticized.

At that time, the extra cost 8,000 US dollars (the equivalent of around 7,250 euros extra).

In return, however, the employees had to grant the company the right to collect internal and external vehicle data.

His use of the FSD beta software was revoked after his termination.

Tesla Fires Employees: Allegedly Breached Company 'Policies'

According to CNBC, no details of the reason for the dismissal were recorded in the written resignation.

However, John B. explained that prior to his sacking, Tesla execs said he broke "Tesla policy" - and that his YouTube channel posed a conflict of interest.

However, according to the report, John B. says he has always been transparent to his employer about his YouTube channel.

He emphasizes that he has never disclosed anything in his videos that Tesla has not made available to the public.

Sophia Thiel struggles with pounds: the actress expresses her worries – and warns clearly

In a tweet, Tesla boss Elon Musk (50) recently declared that he was an "absolutist of freedom of expression".

In his company, however, freedom of expression does not seem to be quite as welcome, as the case of John B. shows.
