Actress Ophelia Strael has died at the age of 81 - it was announced today (Tuesday).
She left no family behind.
Strahl, a native of Romania, played in the Jewish theater in Bucharest before immigrating to Israel.
Here she was best known as Stella in the cult film "Lemon Popsicle," for which she also received the David Violin Award.
She also starred in other films, including "The Angel Was a Devil" and "Funny Israelis," and in a variety of plays.
She also played the protagonist's mother in the TV series "Sun".
In the 1990s, she published her memoirs in the book "Pearl Night".

Culture has previously told Strael that she does not regret Stella's role.
"Why should I regret it? 'Lemon Eskimo' is a movie that people liked. It sold three million tickets, and that's when there were four million people here. Loved it and loved my character too, the audience died for the stella Stella. To this day I can get discounts if I just come to stores "And I'll say I'm the finishing stella, but I'm too cultured a woman to do such a thing," she said.
"I am still recognized on the street. At least three or four times a day," she said.
"And I see how the people in the market and how it goes through their minds: 'Oh, how she's getting older, Ophelia.' Tell me it's not terrible that I're getting older, but in fact they're comforting themselves.
