PPDA case: a new rape complaint against the journalist

This Thursday, the Nanterre prosecutor's office told Le Parisien that a complaint for rape and attempted rape had been filed the day before, at the police station in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, against the former TF1 presenter Patrick Poivre d'Arvor, confirming information from Franceinfo and “Additional investigation”.

Filed in Paris, it is processed by the Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) public prosecutor's office, competent because of the location of the facts, said the public prosecutor.

This complaint was filed the day before the broadcast, this Thursday evening on France 2, of the program "Complement of the investigation", in which several women overwhelm the former host, recounting acts of sexual violence.

Mathilde (her first name has been changed) testifies there after having already participated in the issue of “Sept à Huit” on PPDA, broadcast on December 12.

“This time, I struggled like crazy”

In 1995, Mathilde was 24 and left journalism school when she was hired at TF1.

During an editorial conference, she notices that the star host of the channel stares at her for a long time, she says.

Still according to her story, a few weeks later, one evening when she had stayed late at the editorial office of TF1, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor tried "suddenly, in a second", to impose oral sex on her.

PPDA complaint against 16 women

Contacted by AFP, PPDA's lawyer, Jacqueline Laffont, did not wish to react.

This Tuesday, the former host filed a complaint with civil action for slanderous denunciation against 16 women.

He castigates the "lot of excesses and excesses" of the #MeToo movement, according to passages published by Franceinfo.

The PPDA affair broke out in February 2021, when the writer and journalist Florence Porcel filed a complaint, accusing the former presenter of having forced him to have sex in 2004 and fellatio in 2009. A preliminary investigation was then carried out during four months by the Nanterre prosecutor's office, during which 23 women had testified.

The majority of the facts denounced being prescribed, the investigation had been closed without further action in June.

At the end of November, Florence Porcel had become a civil party in order to cause the referral to a judge to investigate again the non-prescribed facts that she denounces.

The judicial investigation, opened in December 2021, is ongoing.

A second rape investigation is also being conducted in Nanterre, this time by prosecutors, for facts that appear to be time-barred.
