Samsung announced yesterday (Tuesday) that the amount of phones from the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series sold for corporate use more than doubled compared to last year.

Between the months of January and October 2022, the number of foldable phones that Samsung sold to corporate customers increased by 105% compared to the same period.

According to the company, shipments of foldable phones are expected to reach 16 million units worldwide - a 73% increase compared to the same period last year, with shipments expected to amount to 26 million units in 2023.

"There is no doubt that the ease with which tasks can be divided on a wide screen and the widespread adaptation of applications to foldable devices contribute to the momentum of adoption of these devices among corporate users," the company said in a statement.

Last July, the head of Samsung's mobile division, Dr. Roh (TM Roh), stated that in 2021, 10 million units of foldable devices were sold - a growth of hundreds of percent compared to 2020.

Meanwhile, as recently published, the smartphone market fell in the third quarter of 2022 by 9%, according to a report published by the research company Canalys. According to the report, this is the worst third quarter since 2014, with Apple being the manufacturer that recorded the significant increase more in market share (from 15% to 18%) compared to the same period last year.

Samsung registered an increase of a single percentage - from 21% to 22%.

Another interesting figure is that Samsung continues to lead the global smartphone market with 22%, but on the other hand, Apple knocked Xiaomi from second place and is only 4% away from Samsung - a significant reduction in the gap in market share compared to previous years.

OPPO and OnePlus (part of the Chinese BBK corporation) are together in fourth place with 10%, followed immediately by VIVO (also from BBK) with only 9%.
