Gas station strike called off

Stop 'in favor of motorists'. Fegica, the mobilization remains standing (ANSA)

Fegica and Figisc Confcommercio have called off the second day of the strike "in favor of motorists, certainly not the government".

Thus the two acronyms of the petrol plant operators in a joint note.

"The mobilization remains standing" said president of Fegica Roberto Di Vincenzo at the end of the meeting.

"While acknowledging that he had been able to constructively dialogue with the ministry, which has worked hard to become a proactive interlocutor, the meeting confirmed the persistence of many critical issues" write the two acronyms in the note.

"Even this last umpteenth attempt to remedy a by now worn-out situation has failed to highlight any concrete element that could even allow us to imagine interventions on the very serious problems of the sector and on structural price containment. The amendment proposals put forward by the Government to his own decree do not remove the manifest intention of identifying petrol stations as the recipients of confused obligations,

counterproductive as well as clearly accusing". It now appears clear, they add, "that any attempt to advise the Government of reasonableness and concreteness cannot or does not want to be accepted.

For this reason, even insisting on continuing the strike action, used to get a hearing from the Government, no longer has any reason to exist.

Especially since one of the fundamental objectives, that is to say re-establish the truth after the false and decomposed accusations against a category of workers, has been abundantly achieved". The Italian citizens, "have understood perfectly.

It is, therefore, to them, to the citizens that the petrol station attendants are turning to, certainly not to the Government, revoking the second day of the strike already proclaimed, eliminating any possible further inconvenience, completely useless at this point.

The vending machines will therefore reopen as early as this evening.

At this point the discussion moves to Parliament where the petrol stations have already started a series of meetings with all the parliamentary groups so that the text of the so-called transparency decree collects the necessary changes during conversion".
