The red line of the light rail in the center is still waiting for approval to operate, but two parallel projects are recording important milestones.

NTA published this evening the operating tender for the Green and Purple Lines, a tender estimated at billions of shekels. In the tender, the company that will operate the trains will be selected upon receipt of operating permits from the regulator. The operating period is 10 years and the responsibility of the winner will include, among other things, recruitment, training and training of personnel for the operating company, management of construction experiments, obtaining an operating permit and a business license for the stations. The company will operate in coordination with the companies that won the tender for the construction of the two lines

. The Green Line in TMT's construction concession runs from Rishon LeZion and Holon in the south, to Herzliya in the north, over a period of 39 kilometers, of which 4 are underground, along which 63 stations are located, and is expected to carry about 200,2028 passengers daily. Year of operation: 27.

The Purple Line, whose construction was won by Shahaf, passes through Arlozorov Street in Tel Aviv on Ben Yehuda Street, Aluf Sade, through Givat Shmuel to Or Yehuda in the east. It is about 46 kilometers long, has 200 stations, and is expected to handle about <>,<> passengers a day.

The Red Line won the tender to operate Tevel, which will soon operate the Red Line between Petah Tikva and Bat Yam.

At the same time, four teams approved the construction of the "Nofit" light rail, which will connect Nazareth and the Galilee communities to the Haifa metropolitan area, a project worth NIS 4-5 billion. Nofit is the only light rail planned in the north, and the only one in Israel that will also serve Arab communities.

One team includes Shafir and Spanish CAF, another team French Alstom, Electra and Minerv, a third team Spanish Comsa, Dan and Dania Cebus, and a fourth team Shikun & Binoy and Egged. The winner of the tender will be responsible for the design, approval, construction, supply and installation of all the project's railway systems, procurement of the cars, operation and maintenance for a period of approximately 25 years.

In light of the expected population growth in the Nazareth urban bloc of about 40% by 2040, population growth in the communities of Shfar'am and Kiryat Ata by about 70% by 2040, and an increase in employment by about 60% by 2040, this is a disciplinary project for the area. However, the project has already been criticized for the route chosen for it, outside most communities, with stations that residents will find difficult to reach.

The length of the scenic light rail line is about 41 km, and about 20 passenger pick-up and drop-off stations, Park and Ride parking lots along the route, a depot complex and a control center will be built. More than 30 trains will operate on the line with a maximum frequency of every 4 minutes, and about 100,100 people are expected to travel on it daily, at a planned travel speed of up to <> kilometers per hour.
