Coronavirus: more than two million officially registered cases worldwide

More than two million cases of the new coronavirus have been officially declared worldwide, half of which in Europe on Wednesday at 12 noon French time, according to a count made by AFP from official sources.

At least 2,000,576 cases of infection, including 126,871 deaths, have been recorded, especially in Europe, the continent most affected with 1,010,858 cases and 85,271 deaths, as well as in the United States (609,240 cases, including 26,033 deaths ), the country where the pandemic is currently progressing most rapidly. However, the number of cases diagnosed only reflects a fraction of the actual number of infections, with a large number of countries testing only serious cases.
