Today, President Bashar Al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No. 10 of 2020 to exempt imported raw materials as inputs to the local industry, which is subject to a customs fee, 1 percent of the customs duties specified in the customs tariff schedule and all other taxes and fees imposed on import. The text of the legislative decree is as follows:

Draw the following
Article 1 The imported raw materials as inputs to the local industry subject to a customs duty are exempted from 1 percent of the customs duties specified in the effective tariff schedule issued by Decree No. 377 of 2014 and all other taxes and fees imposed on import.
Article 2 The directorates of the economy and foreign trade issue the necessary import licenses and approvals for the materials mentioned in Article No. 1 of this legislative decree in a manner that does not conflict with the granting mechanism approved by the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade.
Article 3 The provisions of this Legislative Decree are valid for one year from the date of its enforcement.
Article 4 The Minister of Finance issues the executive instructions for this legislative decree in coordination with the Minister of Industry and the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade.
Article 5 This legislative decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall take effect from the beginning of the month following the date of its publication.
