Erding - The churches in Erdinger Land stood empty for eight weeks. Because of the corona pandemic, services were prohibited in large crowds due to the risk of infection.
Trade fairs have been allowed again this weekend - with special safety precautions. And so it was a special situation for Erdinger's pastor Martin Garmaier when he celebrated the first liturgy on Sunday for a long time - in front of believers with masks.
Many places had to remain free, the visitors had to get admission tickets beforehand. The musical part was also reduced, as a lot of aerosols are expelled with the air we breathe - and thus potentially also Covid 19 viruses.
