Luc Ferry: "The metamorphoses of work"

CHRONICLE - When we talk about "difficulty" at work, it is no longer just a question of physical wear and tear, but of the absence of meaning, responsibility and freedom.

If we are to believe some economists, artificial intelligence and robotics would simply announce the end of work.

The new technologies designed by the American Gafami and their Chinese equivalents, the BATX, would thus prove the supporters of the RUB (universal basic income, or “universal allowance”) right.

This is, for example, the thesis defended by Jeremy Rifkin in his book 

La Fin du travail

, a work prefaced by Michel Rocard who had taken it into his head to defend these 35 hours that the whole world, as everyone knows, envy (we also wonder what our neighbors are waiting for to implement them, France remaining the only country to hold this admirable privilege…).

, Rifkin further bolsters his thesis by bringing it up to date with the internet giants:
