Police were called to Ibn Gvirol Street on Thursday evening following a violent incident in which a 49-year-old man was stabbed and evacuated to Assuta Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers located the suspect in the murder, a 57-year-old nearby grocery store owner who allegedly stabbed the deceased. The suspect was arrested together with his partner (30) on suspicion that she aided and abetted the murder and disrupted the investigation. According to the police investigation, an argument between the victim, the nephew of Mayor Yehiel Lasri, and the grocer.

As stated, Assuta Hospital reported that the wounded man succumbed to his wounds. Deputy Commander of the Lachish District, Superintendent Eliyahu Small arrived at the scene and decided to assign the investigation to the Lachish Regional Command.
