Days of decision: The coalition and opposition are discussing today (Sunday) the possibility of moderating the bill to reduce the grounds of reasonableness, which is due to be voted on in second and third readings tomorrow. Currently, opposition leader Yair Lapid is in talks on various axes regarding the legislation. Lapid's principles are: 1. Commitment to the rest of the legislation by broad consensus. 2. Changing the law of reasonableness so that gatekeepers cannot be dismissed and appointed without reasonableness (i.e., consent of legal counsel). Lapid also said that the Histadrut's outline is a basis for discussion.

15:45 P.M.: The Likud refuses to accept the Histadrut's decision. The Likud said, "The Histadrut's proposal, which is completely identical to Lapid's, is a unilateral acceptance of the opposition's position as it has been from the beginning. The proposal completely sterilizes the amendment on reasonableness and requires a complete waiver of all other elements of the reform. We continue to make every effort to make a real compromise and expect all parties to seriously engage in this effort and not bring us back to square one."

At the same time, National Camp Chairman Benny Gantz is sticking to the outline he presented on Wednesday, according to which agreement on a compromise is needed to reduce the reasonableness in exchange for a commitment to broad agreement on the rest of the reform. This is done without a time limit of a year, a year and a half, but immediately.
Meanwhile, in the coalition, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is currently in the Defense Ministry and will call at a demonstration in favor of the reform to sit down and talk only after the passage of the bill to reduce the grounds of reasonableness.
