Alper, who has lived in Manhattan for the past decade, works as a pediatric gastroenterologist at the prestigious Yale University. He swore allegiance to his partner in front of friends and family. Although coconuts weren't served to diners, the wedding cake, topped with groom and groom figures, combined Mediterranean flavors like halva and pistachio with tropical Costa Rican fruit.
