Three days after the Hamas terror attack, Russian President Vladimir Putin finally spoke out on the issue on Tuesday – and stood with the Palestinians.
"I think many will agree with me that the events are an example of the failure of American policy in the Middle East," Putin said in a Kremlin meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Sudani today.

"The U.S. tried to be the sole player in the arrangement, but unfortunately they did not look for compromises acceptable to both sides, but on the contrary, imposed their perceptions and pressured both sides alternately. But each time – without taking into account the basic needs of the Palestinian people, first and foremost the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state."
With those words, Putin repeated the message promoted on Saturday by former President Dmitry Medvedev, who accused the United States of escalation. The next day, the idea of the failure of U.S. policy was already broadcast on all Kremlin-affiliated media.
