The Qatari newspaper Al-Arabi Al-Jadid reported, citing Egyptian sources, that an Israeli security delegation arrived in Cairo on Saturday on a special flight to discuss the war against Hamas and Egypt's concern over calls for the population of the northern Gaza Strip to evacuate.

An Egyptian source was quoted in the report as saying that "the Israeli delegation apparently came to update senior Egyptian officials on the steps to be taken in the coming days and to discuss coordination on the issue of evacuating foreign nationals in the Gaza Strip."

According to the source, Israel presented a vision of observers in a joint committee to ensure that senior Hamas and other terrorist organizations would not take advantage of the crossing to leave Gaza.
