On the morning of Saturday, October 7, fighters of the 931st Battalion were deployed to fight in the envelope. Upon receiving the news of the infiltration of terrorists and the unfolding incident in the area, the fighters joined other forces in the sector, including the Magellan unit, and fought together. During the battle, the fighters regained control of the outposts and continued eliminating terrorists and mopping up the area.

During the battles, the brigade lost commanders and fighters, among them the brigade commander, the late Colonel Jonathan Steinberg. The company commander, Major Tal Groshka, also fell in the battle that developed on the way to the village of Gaza. Major Tal jumped into the event together with his soldiers and Maglan Unit soldiers. In the incident they eliminated terrorists and worked to restore control of the communities and outposts.

Despite the heavy losses, the brigade's fighters continued to fight with courage and determination.
