Rana Raslan has now used her platform in an Instagram column to post videos of devastated Gaza and Gaza's children injured as a result of Israeli strikes. She also shared the words of journalist Gideon Levy, who spoke out against what he called "the brutality of the Israeli occupation."
Raslan's choice to share this content drew a lot of anger from talkbackers who attacked her for it in the virtual arena. In response, she posted two more stories on Sunday showing the Israeli side in the war, hoping perhaps to calm the stormy winds around her.
Raslan posted pictures of the missing and abducted Israeli children under the headline, "These are the abducted children. Share for the whole world to see."

In another story, she tried to explain her behavior on social media, claiming that her words were misunderstood. "I want to explain myself. I am an Israeli Arab who believes in peace. I strongly condemn Hamas and terrorism that harms innocent people and innocent civilians. I pray that the abductees return home safely. I'm also pained by the killing of innocents on the other side. Children, women, and civilians affected. May we know true peace and erase terror from the world."
