The Bottom Line

Israeli planes strike Syria after shelling of annexed Golan Heights
Israeli warplanes struck "terrorist infrastructure" in Syria after firing from the territory into the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, the Israeli military said Sunday.
On Saturday, it said two projectiles fired from Syria had fallen in uninhabited areas of the Golan Heights and that rocket warning sirens had sounded in the area.
Israel had already struck Syria on Friday, after a drone fell on a school in the southern Israeli city of Eilat from Syria, she said.
Israel conquered part of the Golan Heights from Syria in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war before annexing the territory in 1981. This annexation is not recognized by the UN.

Concern over several hospitals in Gaza
Concern is running high on Sunday over several hospitals in Gaza as fighting between Israeli and Palestinian forces rages, with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) fearing that these facilities could turn into "morgues" in the absence of a ceasefire.
The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressed alarm early Sunday that he had "lost contact" with his interlocutors in Gaza City's al-Shifa hospital, the largest in the territory.
"WHO is gravely concerned about the safety of health workers, hundreds of sick and injured patients, including babies on life support, and displaced people who remain inside the hospital," he told X.
The Israeli military said it would help evacuate babies from the facility on Sunday.

IDF denounces 'fake news'
The Israeli military yesterday denied targeting al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest, calling reports that its troops were "encircling and hitting" the facility "false." "Hamas is lying about what is happening in the hospitals," IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari told reporters.
