Eli Dukosky, mayor of Kiryat Bialik, wrote about him: "The city of Kiryat Bialik is shocked with pain and sorrow for Staff Sergeant Boris Donvetsky, a resident of our city, who fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip, aged 21.
Boris was a lone soldier who lived in a shared apartment in the Kirya. Immigrated to Israel in 2018 as part of the Na'ale program. This is a unique educational program designed for Jewish youth around the world who come to Israel without their parents. Boris's parents live in Russia and are waiting for their arrival in Israel to schedule the funeral.
I send my condolences to the Donvetsky family and bow my head in pain over the loss of a soldier with a goal who gave his life in a just military campaign to defend the State of Israel."
