The IDF confirmed today (Thursday) that Capt. (res.) Neria Zisk, 24, from Massuot Yitzhak, an armored platoon in the 52nd Battalion, the Iron Traces Division (401), fell in battle in the central Gaza Strip as a result of detonating an IED on the force.
The head of the council where he lived eulogized him: "Last night we received another message of Job: we lost in the battles in Gaza another of the best sons of the council - Capt. Neria Zisk, the dear son of Israel and Galit Zisk, served as a reserve company sergeant in the 401st Brigade, the 52nd Iron Traces Battalion."
"About a year ago he was discharged from the service and went on a trip to South America," he added. "He interrupted the trip when the war broke out to join the fighting forces. From the beginning of the war, he fought in the Gaza Strip as a company sergeant. Neria was full of joie de vivre, funny, caring, responsible, very attached to his parents, loved his brothers and sisters and his sweet niece, loved surfing and playing basketball."
His funeral will take place today, at Massuot Yitzhak Cemetery.
