A video of a Shiba-Inu dog taking a toy at a home goods store went viral, with 10.5 million views, nearly half a million likes and nearly 1,500 comments on Instagram.

In a recording posted to the Instagram account of the 6.5-year-old dog, named Jack Daniels, the dog is seen sitting patiently in the shopping cart while its owner asks if he wants a toy. Jack leans forward to the toy stand, sniffs through the options carefully, and finally selects a blue toy. Dog vision experts say this makes sense, as dogs distinguish between blue and yellow colors more easily than other shades.

The owner emphasized in the description of the video, which has received nearly 1,700 times more views than the next most popular video on the account, that the store, Lowes, is dog-friendly and allows you to do what you see in the video – though he cynically hinted that not all shoppers like it and some comment on it.

Commenters on the video fell under the spell of Jack's selection process. "He seemed so happy with his choice," one user wrote. Others joked that wolves had really evolved, moving from the wild to store toy shelves. Others tried to seriously discuss the nature of the smells that caught Jack's attention and helped him make the decision.
