Tomorrow (Wednesday) hundreds of thousands around the world will mark "The Day of the Exodus of Haredi Society."

In Israel, a research conference on the phenomenon of leaving the ultra-Orthodox society will be held in honor of this day, known as "Election Day," which will be held at the "We" Museum at Tel Aviv University and will be broadcast live on the Walla!

From 16:00 to 21:00.

The "Day of Coming Out of Haredi Society" was initiated by the "Coming to Change" association, and it marks the beginning of a week of cultural, art and research events on the subject of leaving Haredi society. The research conference will present new data on the movement to leave the ultra-Orthodox society, the IDF, academia and the labor market. During the conference there will be a discussion on the social / cultural aspects of choosing to leave the ultra-Orthodox society. Special on the issue of changing policy and rights for the population leaving the ultra-Orthodox society, with the participation of representatives from the IDF, academia and government ministries, and finally a session on "family law", which focuses on the struggle of ultra-Orthodox society graduates. The conference will be attended by, among others, Dr. Neri Horowitz, Dr. Eitan Regev and others, and Brigadier General Amir and Damani, Prof. Shamgar Ben Eliyahu and others will take part in the special session.

Simultaneously with the conference, there will be a variety of events, including tours of the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods of Jerusalem and Bnei Brak, film screenings and a meeting with the creators in cinemas around the country, meetings in the "Salon" of the "Going for a Change" association. Sheva, Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Sderot. You can find all the details about the events here.

In recent years, the number of those who leave the ultra-Orthodox way of life and integrate into general society has grown. Every year, more than 3,000 men and women choose to leave ultra-Orthodox society and for most of them, it is a particularly challenging journey, as in many cases they do not have the basic tools and life skills required to integrate into the new world. .

Due to this, a number of people from the ultra-Orthodox society founded the "People for Change" in 2013 and since then it has been working with government bodies on legislation, budgeting and bringing the issue to the forefront and with people from the ultra-Orthodox society, to help and guide them in their new lives. The association currently has two community centers, in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, where courses and workshops, Friday meals and other events are held. In addition, the association provides counseling and guidance services and operates a number of escort programs that are customized to the needs of the outgoing woman, regardless of their faith.

Nadav Rosenblatt, CEO of "Going for a Change", said ahead of the events at the doorstep: "Assisting people from the ultra-Orthodox sector is in the national interest and has dramatic implications for the future of the country.

This special day is designed to bring to the public's attention the good news of the exit movement, and its contribution to the country's economy and national resilience.

I am sure that it will help each and every one of us to recognize the complexity of the exit on the one hand, and its enormous contribution potential to our society on the other hand and to understand why it is in the interest of all of us to work for their full integration into society. "
