Fair Prices: Now the Truckers union is out to inspect the distribution centers of supermarkets

2023-01-13T17:57:32.828Z

The union controlled by Hugo Moyano together with the Secretary of Commerce wants the Government's price plan to be fulfilled.

With galloping inflation, 94.8% during 2022 (

the highest since 1991

), the program launched by the Government called

Fair Prices

has not yet finished showing favorable results in the pockets of Argentines, so the Truckers Union Together with the Secretary of Commerce, they announced that they will carry

out joint controls in

the distribution centers of the main supermarkets to guarantee the

supply

in the gondolas.

The objective of the Fair Prices program, according to the Government, allows all Argentines to have access to a basket of

1,900 products with frozen prices

and around 20,000 basic necessities that are sold in large supermarket chains.

However, the plan still does

not seem to have an impact on the shelves

and the products increase in value every month.

Given this, the Truckers Union together with the Secretary of Commerce announced that they will work with controls in the distribution area of the main stores.

"It is of the utmost importance that the large distribution centers comply with the supply and thus guarantee that the products

are in the gondolas

, for this purpose the Truckers Union after meeting

Pablo Moyano

with the Secretary of Commerce

Matías Tombolini

, began a job together where the controls are carried out in the different distribution centers such as COTO, Carrefour and Disco, among others, the objective is to

guarantee the implementation of the program

and thus take care of the purchasing power of all Argentines, "says the statement.

And it closes: "The inspections are carried out jointly by the Logistics Branch in charge of Oscar Borda, inspectors of the Secretary of Commerce of the Nation, the director of Inspections Gustavo Gamito and Lucila Bueti Undersecretary of Actions for the Defense of Consumers ".

The drawback arises when it comes to revealing prices, where the products considered basic are the ones that increased the most with increases in December of between 6 and 14%.

Among others affected by the inflationary rise are sweet cookies (13.75%), soft drinks (+11%) and alcoholic beverages (between 6.59% and 11.18%), dulce de leche (+8.08 %)), water biscuits ((+ 7.66%), table bread (+ 7.64%), sunflower oil (+ 6.67%) and fine salt (+ 5.81%), according to INDEC records for Capital and GBA.

Based on these data, the question of the little or no impact of the Precios Justos or Precios Cuidados program on this set of foods arises.

It is that "the prices surveyed that are within the agreement programs between the State and the business sector for December represent 2.88% of the total prices surveyed in Capital and GBA", clarifies the INDEC.

Even so, in certain products, such as cookies or soft drinks, they represent more than 10%.

And the Report adds: “the largest number of surveyed products (of the agreements between the State and the Companies) belong to the category “Food and Beverages”.
