On Thursday morning, its board of directors unanimously appointed Patricia Barbizet to succeed Laurent Burelle as its president from July 1, 2023. For the first time, a woman will therefore take the helm of this powerful organization, founded in 1982 by an emblematic boss, Ambroise Roux (he headed the CGE), and since then piloted by figures of French capitalism.
"No one has used this argument of its kind, and it's a very good thing"
, underlines Laurent Burelle, the president of Afep and the automotive supplier Plastic Omnium.
