Employees of the Carrefour group claimed their right of withdrawal on Monday. Team protection is improving.


The death of a cashier at a Carrefour hypermarket has rekindled the fears of employees of large retailers, forced to work in contact with customers. Several employees of this distributor exercised their right of withdrawal on Monday. A hundred of them, working in a Vitrolles hypermarket in Bouches-du-Rhône, stopped working after two store employees were diagnosed with Covid-19, according to the CGT.

Thirty requests for withdrawal rights were also received by Carrefour management, from employees of a warehouse in Ploufragan, in the Côtes-d'Armor. Employees of this warehouse resumed work Monday after receiving masks. Ditto Vitrolles, after a dialogue with the store manager. Since the start of the crisis, the 85,000 Carrefour employees who are in the field have shown exceptional commitment. The number of withdrawal rights formally exercised has remained very limited ”, notes Jérôme
