Ljubov Belych kisses the Hollerhaus awake: The cultural meeting point ends its corona sleep with an anniversary exhibition.

Irschenhausen - The pictures by Ljubov Belych are of extraordinary intensity.

Even if they are kept in delicate pastel tones, they go straight to the heart with the eye of the beholder.

Whether portrait, still life or landscape painting, the native Russian sets standards with her pictures.

Her anniversary exhibition can now be seen in the Hollerhaus: 30 years of Ljubov Belych in the Isar valley.

Like a phoenix from the ashes

“Like a phoenix from the ashes,” said Hollerhaus boss Lia Schneider-Stöckl, expressing her joy at finally being able to open an exhibition again.

She is particularly happy that Ljubov Belych's anniversary exhibition is about to end the pandemic break.

In her address, Schneider-Stöckl described the impressive career of the painter, who is not only very talented but also belongs to the master class through diligence and who has lost her heart in and around the Isar Valley for exactly 30 years.

The artist looks back on an eventful life

The young painter came to Bavaria in 1991, shortly after reunification, with a group of young artists from St. Petersburg because she was invited to an exhibition in the Loisachhalle in Wolfratshausen. A young man from the area was supposed to record this visit on film. “With an eye trained in film, he not only saw the unique pictures of Ljubov Belych with enthusiasm, but also the artist herself,” said Schneider-Stöckl. The artist also liked the young man with the camera. "But at that time she had completely different plans, had just finished studying in St. Petersburg, had - back in Moscow - her own beautiful studio and her career had just begun." But the young man from Germany kept coming back , learned Russian and the story took its course. The couple is celebrating their silver wedding anniversary this year.

At the age of 13 he went to Moscow's most famous art school - and skipped two classes there

Ljubov Belych has lived in the Isar valley for almost 30 years, interrupted by many months of the year that she spends in her studio in Moscow. Born into a real artistic family, she painted her first oil painting when she was three years old. At just 13, she passed the entrance exams to Moscow's most famous arts secondary school, skipped two grades, and graduated in 1975 at the tender age of 14. After studying art in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad) and Moscow, she went to the Academy of Arts in Moscow. Belych has been a member of the Russian Artists' Union since 1988. She has received numerous prizes and awards and is an honorary member of the Academy of Arts in Moscow for her outstanding achievements in the field of portrait painting.

An excellent selection of her pictures is now on display in the Hollerhaus.

The spectrum ranges from earlier works such as the portrait of the younger sister to the “Girl with the Mandolin”, which was chosen as the cover picture for the anniversary exhibition.

It is worth paying attention to these images.
