After a year under temporary management, the Finsing elementary and middle school now has a new headmaster.

Susanne-Eva Techant (51) was officially welcomed on Wednesday.

- "I focus on the students," explained the teacher.

She is very much looking forward to her new role and to “taking over the previous traditions of this school and advancing school development in cooperation with the school management team, with the teaching staff and with the school family”.

As reported, the married mother of two adult daughters was previously headmaster at the Ottenhofen primary school for three years. She completed her teaching degree at the University of Passau and has been a teacher for 25 years. She worked at various primary schools in the Munich district, including three years as vice-principal, and also worked as a lecturer at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.

At the official welcome, Mayor Max Kressirer, who is also chairman of the Finsing-Moosinning-Neuching school association, said he was "very happy and grateful" that the rector's position had been filled again after a year of acting management. After all, important things and decisions are pending, which should further advance the school. The planned expansion, for example, to take into account the steadily increasing number of schoolchildren. This year, for the first time, there will be a total of four first grades in the primary school including the outsourced schoolhouse in Niederneuching. "We hope that you feel at home with us in Finsing," said Kressirer, before handing Techant a bouquet of flowers.

For the small ceremony, school supervisor Stephan Rettig came to Finsing on behalf of school authority director Robert Leiter - it was a home game for the former headmaster. "The transition from the relatively small Ottenhofen primary school to the second largest school in the Erding district, as far as primary and secondary schools are concerned, is a big step," said Rettig in the direction of his successor. He wished her every success and joy in her new role.

As reported, Rettig was seconded to the Erding State Education Authority as a school council on September 1, 2020.

His position in Finsing has been vacant since then.

Vice-principal Antje Dürr had been acting as head of the school for a year.

Now this post is vacant again: Dürr has moved to another school.

The position of vice-principal is being advertised again, said Rettig when our newspaper asked.
