The Schmidl house at the Tölzer Waldriedhof has long been to be demolished.
Now this year the walls are probably really getting to the bottom.
Bad Tölz - It almost looks like a small Seidl building, but it isn't one: the Schmidl house next to the Tölz forest cemetery, which used to house the nursery of the same name.
Those times are long gone.
The house has been empty for a long time, many panes of the former nursery glass houses have been destroyed by hail and unwanted visitors.
The ground in front of the dilapidated house is now being used to temporarily store building rubble.
The city acquired the property in the 1990s to make room for an expansion of the cemetery.
The trend towards urn burial has made these plans unnecessary.
The city considered restoring the ruins and making them habitable, but found them too expensive.
The demolition of the house has been decided for a long time
The demolition has been decided for a long time and is scheduled to take place this year.
This was announced by the Tölz city treasurer Hermann Forster during the budget deliberations.
However, this will be an expensive "pleasure".
The sorting obligation for the rubble is strict.
The many pieces of broken glass do not make it any easier to remove.
The demolition will cost around 300,000 euros.
Of this, only 125,000 euros will burden the budget this year.
The rest was already saved in previous years.
According to Forster, part of the resulting area will be used to enlarge the cemetery car park.
"There are always problems with large funerals." In the back area "it's still meadow".
