A man died today (Sunday) in a fire that broke out in an apartment in a residential building in a neighborhood on El Hariri Street in Jerusalem.
After eight fire brigades were rushed to the scene and carried out fire extinguishing operations, the flames were brought under control.
A fire investigator is on his way to the scene.
MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene reported that the man they rescued from the apartment suffered from severe burns on his body, and showed no signs of life. Because of this, they were finally forced to pronounce him dead.
MDA paramedic Akiva Polak said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw heavy smoke coming from the apartment.
The firefighters rescued an unconscious man with severe burns on his body.
He had no signs of life and we had to determine his death."
