Many political and parliamentary figures in Egypt and diplomatic delegations offered condolences to the victims of the earthquake that struck Syria, at the headquarters of the Syrian Embassy in Cairo for the second day in a row, expressing their solidarity with the Syrian people in this calamity.

Condolences were offered by the ambassadors of Jordan, Iraq, Bahrain, Palestine, Croatia, Niger, Chad, and Slovakia, and representatives of the embassies of Oman, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Pakistan, and Bulgaria, as well as many deputies in the Egyptian People’s Assembly, and delegations representing the “Media for Syria and the Arab and Islamic Gathering” to support the choice of resistance and the association. Egyptian for graduates of Russian and Soviet universities, where they were received by Ambassador Dr. Bassam Darwish, Head of the Syrian Diplomatic Mission in Cairo.

Egyptian Member of Parliament Nashwa El-Deeb expressed her deep sorrow and solidarity with the Syrian government and people, condemning the unjust and inhumane Western blockade imposed on it, calling on the whole world to stand by Syria and its people to lift the economic blockade.

Members of the Egyptian Parliament, Atef Maghawry, Ahmed Bilal, Doha Assi, the Egyptian human rights and political activist Khaled Al-Kilani, Dr. Sherif Gad, head of the Egyptian Association for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, and Jamal Zahran, coordinator of the Arab and Islamic Gathering to Support the Resistance Option in Egypt, also stressed the need to lift the unjust and unfair sanctions imposed on Syria and its people after this disaster. They pointed out that the catastrophe of the earthquake increased the suffering of the Syrian people, who were subjected to external conspiracies and an unjust economic blockade that violates all laws and laws.

The delegation of the Arab Socialist Party of Egypt also expressed the party's deep solidarity with Syria in this humanitarian catastrophe that befell it as a result of the earthquake, calling for the cessation of all unilateral coercive measures imposed on it.

Major General Abdel-Azim Zaher, head of the Egyptian Arab Socialist Party, Rami Al-Sayed, Secretary-General, Suha Al-Baghdadi, media advisor for Arab affairs in the party, and Ghada Eid, assistant secretary-general and media advisor, stressed the need to end the unjust economic blockade imposed on Syria, calling on all countries, organizations and free people in the world to provide Humanitarian aid urgently in order to support and solidarity with Syria.

For his part, Ambassador Darwish affirmed that Syria is recovering with the steadfastness of its sons and the solidarity of its brothers with it.
