FIFA has announced the list of nominees for the 2021 FIFA World Player of the Year award.
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was among the 11-man shortlisted candidates for the prestigious “FIFA The Best” award, which is an annual award presented by the federation to the best players and coaches in football for the past year.
The Federation pointed out that the ceremony will be held Monday, January 17, in Zurich, Switzerland, while voting begins today and ends Friday, December 10.
The nominees for the award are the French Karim Benzema, the Belgian Kevin de Bruyne, the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, the Norwegian Erling Haaland, the Italian Jorginho, the French Ngolo Kante, the Polish Robert Lewandowski, the French Kylian Mbappe, the Argentine Lionel Messi, the Brazilian Neymar Da Silva, in addition to Salah.
Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski was crowned the best player in the world for the year 2020, beating Messi and Ronaldo.
