Fatal fire in Le Havre: a woman placed in police custody

The fire broke out on Friday evening in an old hotel rehabilitated into apartments. Four injured are also to be deplored.


His police custody has been extended. A woman was arrested on Saturday after the death of a couple in a fire the night before in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime). His arrest took place "Saturday at two o'clock in the morning", indicates the deputy prosecutor of Havre Cyrille Fournier.

The fire was reported on Friday around 8 p.m. in a half-timbered building, a former hotel rehabilitated into apartments, rue du Maréchal-Joffre in Le Havre. Fifty-two firefighters and 26 devices were dispatched to the scene.

Four injured

Two police officers, a resident and a firefighter were slightly injured during the intervention which continued until Saturday morning. The two deceased were found in the attic of the building. According to France Bleu, it would be a 43-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman.
