Most recently, the development studio had to apologize, now Sony is drawing conclusions.
The company is withdrawing its video game »Cyberpunk 2077«, which was produced with immense effort, due to technical defects.
The Japanese company said on Friday that buyers who bought the game on the PlayStation Store will be offered a full refund.
In the past few days, users had complained about numerous software bugs.
There were even warnings about health risks posed by the game.
"Cyberpunk 2077" will now be removed from the Playstation Store until further notice, Sony announced.
The company justified the measure with the fact that "a high degree of customer satisfaction" is sought.
The video game, which was highly anticipated worldwide, was released last week.
Right from the start, the creators were forced to put a warning notice on »Cyberpunk 2077« after a reviewer had reported about epileptic seizures.
The Polish development studio "CD Projekt Red" said it was looking for a "more permanent solution" to get the health risk under control "as quickly as possible".
Allegedly, the development cost 270 million euros
Various reviewers pointed to software bugs in the game.
They accused Sony of offering an unfinished product.
The release date of »Cyberpunk 2077« had been postponed twice.
The PR disaster is doubly annoying when you consider the enormous effort involved in making the game: for the English version, dialogues totaling 450 hours were recorded, spoken by 125 actors - including Hollywood star Keanu Reeves.
The Polish bank BOS estimated the production costs at 270 million euros - that would make »Cyberpunk 2077« one of the most expensive video games ever developed.
