Users around the world - including Israel - are reporting a widespread malfunction on Instagram and Facebook Messenger tonight (Wednesday).

According to the complaints, there are problems with the messaging services in the apps - it is not possible to load calls or read messages.

You also get an error message that says: We'm sorry, but something went wrong ("We apologize, but something went wrong").

According to the website Downdetector, which provides a snapshot of global Internet glitches, the glitch is felt in Europe, the East Coast of North America, and the Middle East including Israel.

Meta, the parent company, has not yet commented on the malfunction.
