Wrongly parked, paid ten euros, done: That's how many drivers calculate when they break the stopping rules.
But be careful: Parking violations can be really expensive and even cost you your driver's license.
Just parked wrong?
No problem, it's just a trivial offense - that's the opinion of many drivers.
A ticket for more than ten euros because the parking meter has expired or because you parked your car briefly in a no-parking area, that's just part of the usual car costs.

But the matter can be more expensive than some parking offenders calculate.
Because there are a few special cases that drastically increase the fine - and even Flensburg points or a driving ban are due:
violation | punishment or consequence |
---|---|
Stop or double park... | 55 euros |
...with disabilities | from 55 euros, 1 point |
Parking on pedestrian and cycle paths | from 55 euros/towing |
Parking of emergency routes | from 55 euros/towing |
Parking in spaces for the disabled | from 55 euros/towing |
Parking in a curve or in a clear place... | 35 euros |
...with disabilities or longer than an hour | 55 euros |
...with the handicap of emergency vehicles | 100 euros, 1 point, 1 month driving ban |
It is also expensive for those who stray onto a private parking space when the tow truck approaches immediately.
Or when a parked caravan overtaxes the legal situation.
Notorious sinners can get even more trouble - up to and including driver's license withdrawal.
A corresponding ruling by the Berlin Administrative Court has now become known: A driver who commits more than 150 parking violations in one year is unfit to drive a motor vehicle.

Parking wrong: Excuses don't help
The specific case: The state office for civil and regulatory affairs had a driver who had accumulated 174 procedures for traffic offenses - 159 parking and 15 speed violations - withdrawn the driver's license.
Excuses that family members had used the car were not accepted by the court in the subsequent proceedings.
The fact that the owner was dependent on the car for work did not count either.
However, the man can still apply for permission to appeal against the verdict.
