The companies Shlomo Share and City Car won the Jerusalem Municipality tender to operate shared car services - rentals for short periods of 24 hours or less.

They replace the GOTO company (formerly CAR2GO) which operated such a service in the city until now.

For the benefit of the project, 44 parking spaces have been allocated in residential neighborhoods and central locations in the city, parking spaces that will be available car-to-car sharing.

City Car is a company that specializes in the ultra-orthodox sector, prohibits the use of its vehicles on Shabbat and holidays and does not charge for hours that fall on them.

Shlomo share will also offer its vehicles on Shabbat, and both allow you to rent the vehicle through an app that unlocks the vehicle parked on the street, without the need to pick it up and return it to the rental company's branch.

City Car also operates a call center for those who do not own smartphones.

How much will the rental cost?

Shlomo share offers in its fleet only mini cars, mainly Kia Picanto.

The rental is for 24 hours at a price of NIS 200, which includes a trip of 150 km and NIS 1.5 for each additional km and canceling the deductible in case of an accident.

The company will initially operate 33 cars in Jerusalem.

City Car offers a more diverse fleet, from small cars to 7-seaters, and more diverse rental options.

The company will initially offer 13 cars, with the intention of expanding later to 150 cars.

A small car, a mini like the Picanto or a super mini like the Citroen C3, is offered for 10 NIS per hour and 1.5 NIS per km, 90 NIS for 7 hours + 1 per km, or 150 NIS per day + 1 per km.

Crossovers Like Kia Seltos, Dacia Duster or Kia Sid are offered for NIS 20 per hour or NIS 200 per day + NIS 1.5 per km.

For the same price, you can rent an electric Seres 3 and pay only half a shekel per km.

Kia Sorento 7 seats is offered for NIS 35 per hour or NIS 350 per day + NIS 2 per day.

There is also a Kia Carnival, for NIS 45 per hour or NIS 450 per day + NIS 2 per km.
