Eta hit Central America as a Category 4 hurricane on Tuesday, November 3, devastating impoverished coastal areas of northern Nicaragua (photo) before weakening on Wednesday as it moved north through Honduras, Guatemala and Costa Rica.

Eta is now a Category 1 hurricane once again, based on data from a Hurricane Hunter aircraft and Doppler radar.
The maximum sustained winds are now 120km / h, with stronger gusts.
The storm is about 273 kilometers from Tampa, according to the National Hurricane Center.
It is likely to strengthen further this Wednesday, and Eta is likely to be near or above hurricane strength when it makes landfall tomorrow along Florida's west coast.
