LIVE – Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96
The most popular and famous sovereign on the planet has passed away.
Three months after celebrating the jubilee of her historic 70-year reign, Elizabeth II died Thursday at her Scottish summer residence.
“
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and Queen Consort will stay at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow
,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
