The Departmental Council of Meurthe-et-Moselle will pay up to 1,500 euros in bonus to the 2,000 employees of home help who worked in the department "under particularly difficult conditions" during the coronavirus crisis, announced on Monday community.

In total, the Council will soon release 2.2 million euros to finance this "exceptional" bonus for staff of the home help and support services (SAAD), according to a press release. Paid "before the summer holidays" , it will vary according to "the person's working time" and "his degree of exposure to the risks of contamination" during the confinement period, according to the same source.
An "incomprehensible government decision"
The coronavirus crisis "has highlighted the extraordinary dedication of these professionals alongside those of health and support for people in the medico-social sector , " said the president of the Departmental Council of Meurthe-et-Moselle, the socialist Mathieu Klein, quoted in the press release. "We will face up to our responsibilities despite a very constrained financial context" and the "incomprehensible government decision", according to Mathieu Klein, to pay "bonuses only to state and health personnel, leaving it to local communities assume the expenses for other professionals ” .
