From Aruba to El Salvador via Dubai, these countries that defy the tourism crisis

In the West Indies and Central America, some destinations are receiving more visitors than before the pandemic.


Winter holidays dictated by the proliferation of Omicron. Due to the pandemic, few destinations will save the season. Taking advantage of the vacuum left by countries closed to international tourism, only a handful stand out, going so far as to do better than before the crisis.

"The Caribbean is the big winner thanks to the Americans, who are the most numerous to travel in winter,"

, El Salvador and Aruba welcome more visitors than before the pandemic. Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Bahamas and Jamaica do almost as well. The Maldives are also doing well. ”
