So what happened to the re-released "Cat Killer" in Netflix's "Do Not Mess with Cats: The Hunt for the Killer from the Internet" reissue? Just before we go over to talk about it - Highlights: The series is about finding the killer and his motives. We won't talk about his motives in favor of anyone who has yet to watch the series (because that is the most interesting part of it) - but his identity will be revealed in the next paragraph, so if you haven't heard of the crime episode that rocked the network at the beginning of the decade and are interested in accessing the series on part page - don't read on - Because from here on out there are spoilers.

The series follows the abominable killer Luca Magnotta, who posted on the YouTube video under an anonymous username where he looks (with his face hidden) brutally murdering two cats. The video has attracted attention from cat lovers around the world who have embarked on a long journey to identify and capture the killer - who deliberately left hints of this in his video. Other cat abuse videos found themselves online that year and the pursuit of the killer has gained momentum. In May 2012, the killer "rose" and selected a human victim - Chinese student John Lin. He invited Lynne to a rented apartment in Toronto to have sex with him and then murdered his body. Like the murder of cats - the killer also documented this horrific murder and uploaded the video online. He mailed parts of his body to various political parties in Toronto, as well as then-Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. This time, too, he left clues to his identity and whereabouts. The murder case also involved law enforcement when the Canadian, French and German police acted to capture the central suspect - Luca Magnotta. Magnotta, a bisexual model who worked in the sex industry in the past, was found and trapped two months after the murder at an internet kiosk in Canada, when he searched himself on Interpol's website.

In 2014, Luca Magnotta was found guilty of all charges against him and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder he committed, he would be eligible for a pardon 25 years from the start of his sentence - and he was also sentenced to 19 years in prison for the additional crimes he committed, including production and distribution of indecent substances (videos YouTube), sending obscene materials in the mail and harassing public servants (sending the body parts of Lynn to the Canadian Prime Minister).

So what has happened to him since then? In 2015, behind bars in the Fort Cartier Correctional Facility in Canada, Magnotta signed up for a dedicated inmate dating site. On the profile, he wrote that he was looking for "a shapely white man in the 28-38 age range. A faithful, well-educated, financially and emotionally stable man for a long-term binding relationship. If you think you can be my knight on my white horse, send me a detailed letter with at least two pictures."

His return to the dating sites sparked a stir, mainly because he met his human victim through the LGBT dating site. Indeed, Magnotta found what he was looking for: In 2017, he found love in prison. He fell in love with prisoner Anthony Jolene, also a convicted murderer. The two married on June 26, 2017, and his mother, Anna Yorkin, witnessed their wedding Radio I Heart reported that the married couple was not allowed to make contact visits or move to a shared cell at their request.

So how does Magnotta's life go to jail? Magnotta, now 37, may have refused to talk to the media, but in a book published by Anna Yorkin, his mother, along with reporter Brian Whitney about a year ago, "The Killer: The Untold Story of Luca Magnotta and 'One Mad, One Ice Prick'" appeared Some quotes from Magnotta from his life in prison. "We have movie evenings, our own TV in every cell. I play video games, study drawing and languages and do a lot of exercise."

His arrest was documented on cameras:

The book also addresses the defensive line taken by Magnotta's attorneys that he was not responsible for his actions because he suffered from a mental disorder that prevented him from distinguishing between good and evil. Magnotta himself dismissed the allegation, saying he did not suffer from mental illness and that these were his attorneys who pressed him to argue so. Whitney said Magnotta doesn't like to talk about the crimes he committed and shows no remorse for his actions. He told the National Post: "He still looks towering, as if he is above everyone else. He believes the company is sick. Not him." Weiss reported that Magnotta worked in the prison kitchen and enjoyed good food, but Catherine Latimer, CEO of the John Howard Association of Canada, says Magnotta was moved to the maximum security wing, where conditions are tougher and prisoners are usually incarcerated 22 hours a day. Usually "hideous" and cooked in an outdoor place and sent to prison for heating only.
