The researchers of "Correctiv" examined several thousand accounts of right-wing extremists on Instagram in order to understand the recruiting of the scene.
In his most recent column, "How right aesthetics work on Instagram", columnist Sascha Lobo writes about the messages that are spread in the app, which is part of the Facebook group.
The staging of "enormously blonde families" in the forest and field should signal: "Here the world is still natural and in order, in the sense of the order of 1935".
The man is "always the hero", the woman "only seductress and mother".
That promises, writes Lobo, "an uncomplicated, natural life unencumbered by the chaos of modernity" and is attractive not least because it does not require the luxury lifestyle that many Instagram influencers promote.
In addition, there is the recoding of terms such as tradition, Europe and above all home, which in the new right communication stand for a cultural and ethnic homogeneity that does not exist in reality.
And because it can only be reached by force, "the right concept of home is a murderous one".
In his podcast, Lobo comments on selected letters from his readers.
