The Orion capsule has left lunar orbit to enter the trajectory to return to Earth, which it will enter after a final flyby of the Moon, on December 5th.
The splashdown in the Pacific Ocean is scheduled for 11 December.
NASA's Artemis 1 mission, symbol of the return to the Moon, is nearing its completion.
The engine fired for 1:45 minutes to bring the capsule out of the distant retrograde orbit it entered on Nov. 25, so named because the vehicle moves around the Moon in the opposite direction to that in which the Moon moves around the Earth more than 80,500 kilometers from the lunar surface.
