In the past 24 hours, 12 new deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in the hospital, according to data communicated by the Directorate General of Health (DGS) on Friday.

In total, the coronavirus has killed 30,324 people in the country. Of these deaths, 19,818 occurred in hospitals.

The figures for social and medico-social establishments will not be updated until August 11. The latest report, drawn up on Tuesday, reported 10,506 dead.

2,288 new cases confirmed in 24 hours

The DGS also indicates that 5,011 people are still hospitalized after being infected with SARS-CoV-2 and that 136 new admissions have taken place in 24 hours.

Among the patients treated, 383 of the most serious cases are in the intensive care units. It's seven less than Thursday. Twenty people have been admitted to intensive care in the past 24 hours.

The country had 21 new outbreaks of clustered cases on Friday, but 499 clusters have been closed, and 2,288 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.
