According to the New York Times the crane collapsed around 7:30 a.m. (13:30 p.m. Paris time) between 10th Avenue and 41st Street near Hudson Yards, a neighborhood of Manhattan in full reconstruction. Firefighters arrived at the scene, originally alerted to the fire before construction equipment collapsed. The neighborhood is cordoned off.

A civilian and a firefighter were injured in the crash, according to CNN. Their lives are not in danger according to the American news channel.
