The Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, approved the recommendation of the Economic Committee, which included supporting the Ministry of Industry’s proposal to amend the purchase prices of the tobacco crop from farmers for the 2022-2023 season in favor of the General Tobacco Corporation, with an increase of 500 Syrian pounds per kilogram for each of (Shak Al-Bint and Al-Tanbak Extra grade only and the rest of the premium grade varieties ).
The prices for the girl’s doubt become Extra 7000 Syrian Pounds per kilogram, Tabak Extra Class: 5500 SP/kg, Basma Premium Class: 8000 SP/kg, Prilip Premium Class: 7000 SP/kg Burley Premium Class: 5300 SP/ Kg Caterini Premium Class: 7000 SP/kg Virginia Premium Class: 6000 SP/kg.
The increase in the purchase price for this season comes to encourage farmers to provide good quality sap to improve the quality of the final product and reduce the percentage of waste during the process of sorting sap, and in appreciation of the efforts of farmers and encouraging them to continue planting this crop and focus on planting some varieties.
