Israel's pairs bobsleigh team made history tonight (between Thursday and Friday) when they won a medal for Raushuna in this sport, they did so when they won the bronze medal at the North American Championships, held in Whistler, Canada.
The duo, which includes Adam Edelman, who represented Israel at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games, and Jason Dunn, finished the competition with a total time of 1:48.32, 1.99 seconds away from Canadians Malik Carter and Sam Kazic. Rounding out the podium picture were Americans Adrian Adams and Horn Christopher with 1:48.08.
As you may recall, ahead of the 2022 games in Beijing, an effort was made to bring an Israeli quartet into the games, but due to the paucity of competitions during the coronavirus period, they missed the ticket at the very last minute. But this time it is hoped to do so at the 2026 Games in Italy.
Also participating in the competition were the Israeli duo of Aharon Spigliopoulos and Mika Alon, who finished the first round with a time of 58.89 seconds, but did not take part in the second round. Sledding is one of the oldest winter disciplines at the Olympic Games, with competition for quads already visible at the first Games in 1924 in France.
