the Schwarzenberg

He is the son of ski jumper Holger Freitag and took his first steps in skiing at an early age.
Richard Freitag finished his visit to the sports
high school
in Oberwiesenthal with the
Abitur
in 2017. The

with the rank of corporal jumps for the SG Nickelhütte Aue team.
The ski jumper gained his first experience at the
Continental Cup
and then competed in the
World Cup
for the first time in 2009

A year later, Freitag
finished thirteenth
in the

Four Hills Tournament
. At the German Championships in 2011, he made it onto the podium for the first time by jumping the second best distance in the individual competition.
