Karl Geiger was born on February 11, 1993 in Oberstdorf.

He competes for his hometown club SC Oberstdorf and is also part of the customs ski team.

The athlete competed in his first major competition in March 2012 - the second-rate Continental Cup.

Only six months later, he took his first podium at the summer jumping competition in Tchaikovsky and finished in third place.

A few days later he even managed to place second in Klingenthal.

All of this earned him

The ski jumping coach Werner Schuster nominated the young ski jumper in 2014 for the

Four Hills Tournament 2014/2015

the silver medal

on the large hill

, but was also further ahead in the team.

With his teammates he won the gold medal in team jumping and thus became

world champion

The second gold medal followed in the

mixed team competition

with Markus Eichenbichler, Juliane Seyfarth and Katharina Althaus.

Geiger didn't have to wait long for his first individual world title.

In 2020 the time had

and with an overall rating of 877.2 he secured the title.

was also one of the big favorites at the

Four Hills Tournament

2019/2020, but could not fully meet expectations.

In the overall standings, he came in third.

In the subsequent 2020/2021 tour, on the other hand, he was ahead of the game in the opening competition and decided it for himself.

In the end he finished second behind Kamil Stoch.
