Since the start of the season, the use of video assistance (VAR) has been very controversial, especially on offside. According to a YouGov poll, more than two-thirds of supporters believe that VAR has made the game less enjoyable. Richard Masters, new general manager of the Premier League, said that offside could be studied "to see if we want very precise offside at the armpit or heel, or if we want to introduce a certain tolerance ”.
“We are in constant dialogue with the International Board (in charge of the rules of the game) about VAR and how the Premier League does with others and what we can learn from others championships, "continued Richard Masters. English championship management and clubs are expected to meet in April to discuss possible changes to the VAR next season.
Last December, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin had already asked the International Board to "clarify the use" of VAR for offside and hands.
